I am sorry to read about the death of Dave. I served with him in Korea and he was a truly exceptional individual. He got to Korea before me and was serving as the Adjutant of the 36th Engineer Group but I don’t think an administrative assignment was what he wanted, so he was promoted and given command of the 633rd light equipment company and I replaced him as the Adjutant. He and I lived in the same building and his room was also our bar which was always well stocked especially with Cutty Sark, which was his favorite at the time, and Jim Beam. I talked to him several times over the years but had not talked to him in probably two years. He was a good Army friend and I share in your loss.
