I met Dave at the teen center when I was about 10-11, loved how the guy would always freestyle for me and the other kids; we all kind of confided in him, all kinds of troubles were just laid on him but he never seemed bothered by it and wasn't afraid to give insight and advice where other adults at the time were too apprehensive since we were kids.
Guy knew how to level with the youth.
Wish I knew he played music outside of the freestyling, I would have went and seen him; I do seem to remember he played guitar after seeing the picture though.
Always tried to find Him on Facebook from time to time--just wanted to see how he was doing and let him know how much of a posistive impact he had on my life.
I was a homeless youth and had little to nopositive male role models in my life, but he was definitely one of them.
It's been a long time since those days, and I've come a long way thanks to him and others like him.
Sounds like he had a lot more too him than I ever got to see, it warms my heart to see he was loved by many others.

Dave was one of the first friends I had when I started working at Spectrum almost 8 years ago. We were on the intensive care team together when it first started and he always made my day brighter. I loved how he was passionate about helping others, and his sense of humor got me through some of my toughest days. He was the brightest light, covered in the brightest shirts. He was spectacular, and had a spectacular partner in Pauline. I love you Dave, I hope your pain is gone and that you are laughing and dancing wherever you are.

Met Dave in 93 and last saw in 14 I think. Traded silly banter and thoughtful perspectives. This was hard for me to hear and I miss him deeply.

My deepest condolences. I’ve known Dave for 7plus years, an intellectual man, generous and very thoughtful! He always put a smile on our faces at work, and a hug if we ever needed one! Dave made mac n cheese for my boys, I remember him saying “this ain’t no ordinary mac n cheese, it’s a man’s cheese, we gonna call it Hombre Cheese”!
Your humor is always in our hearts, you will be greatly missed! RIP Dave, my good fren.

I am sending my deepest condolences. I met Dave 20 years ago at the Sedona Teen Center, and had the pleasure of working with him as an adult. I will cherish the laughter, deep talks, and friendship we had. He sure loved Lene, his daughters, and grandkids. He asked for updates on my kids while sharing Panda and Maples latest milestones. He sang to me while we poured candles and salves at work. Thank you for the love and laughter friend, you are missed.

The first song I heard Dave sing was Donovan's, Catch The Wind. Other songs he played beautifully & with so much passion included, Cat Stevens, Father & Son. Tom Petty, Breakdown. Neil Young, The Needle & The Damage Done. Alvin Lee & Ten Years After, I Would Love To Change The World. You have succeeded, in changing the World, Dave. You touched so many lives through your passion, kind heart, cleverness, sense of humor, talent. Life is so often challenging. It's what Life is about, learning through the Pain & the Beauty. But For The Grace of God, go I. You are now FREE. Fly high with the Angel Bands, Davey. Sallie-Mae

Dave made memories that no one else could make with you. He made you feel like you were seen, and he would check in with you. When he gave of himself, he had the ability of allowing others to be themselves. And it seemed to come from his heart. My condolences to you.
