David (aka Laptop Dave) went …
2005, London, UK

David (aka Laptop Dave) went through a bandana and leather jacket wearing phase at uni, as seen in this picture.  The biker without a bike license or bike 🙈🤣.

He will be missed. We shared many memories together during our university days and beyond.

David was so friendly and we immediately felt welcomed at your home, his jovial attitude was infectious and his love for you and Riley so warmly apparent. His dear memory will always be with us all. 💗
His light will live on in the memories of everyone who knew him, and especially in Lauren and Riley.  He will be in our thoughts forever.

My condolences, Lauren & the rest of the family. David was such a talented, funny, sweet, & caring friend. We are missing him so much.
One of my funniest examples of David’s ‘refined dry wit’ happened shortly after Riley was born. I had traveled to California to assist David and Lauren with the new baby. As a musician and grandmother, I wanted to sing lovely songs and make sure that this sweet baby was hearing beautiful choral music, such as The King’s Singers, Take 6, and others. I knew that David had sung in choirs as a young man and that he had a very fine musical ear, so I was certain he would approve of my listening selections for baby Riley. A novice in the use of home technology, I was enjoying asking ‘google’ to play whatever came to mind. Little did I know, however, that the room had sound monitoring. David could hear everything I was saying and playing for Riley. As a particularly lovely selection by The King’s singers concluded I received a text message from David that read, “STOP!” I wasn’t sure what to do. The message continued, “It’s going to take me weeks of having Riley listen to pop music to undo all of the musical imprinting you are doing!” Well, the reader can imagine, I was shocked that I had upset David, unaware that he had been listening and even more shocked that he wouldn’t approve! As I sat in the chair, wondering what to say or do, I received another text. It had a giant smiling Emoji, with J/K next to it. Just Kidding. Definitely refined dry wit…. I will miss him and his incredible sense of humor very much.
My condolences and prayers to David's family. I first met David when we were paired together in Huntsville, Alabama. He was fairly new to the company and I was assigned to show him the ins and outs of training and development. I immediately loved his accent and witty dry humor. We went on to have a friendship, quirky experiences and lots of travel. You left a lasting impression on us and will be sorely missed.

Lauren,

I was deeply saddened to hear of your recent loss.  Please know that you and your daughter, Riley, are in my thoughts and prayers.

I met David and Lauren when they relocated to Sonoma county, in Northern California.  I am a Speech Language Pathologist and worked with Lauren. I instantly loved both of them. They were so kind, intelligent, thoughtful, funny, and had the most interesting pair of animals you have ever seen. When David and Lauren got married in December 2021, my family and I were lucky enough to pet sit Loki and Orville for them while they were getting married. My kids, Hunter and Olivia, fell in love. For those who may not know Loki is a hairless cat, most likely a Sphynx, and Orville a cute little pug. Loki, was clearly David’s baby. I am sure a part of the reason for this is that Loki was in cat personality, a lot like David. During our stay with us he had us laughing all the time, with constant minor shenanigans, but shenanigans with intellect and class; peeing in the bathtub because he got accidentally locked in the bathroom which I thought was genius, as it was so much easier to clean up, finding the highest place in the kitchen to nap which was snuggled up between wine bottles, and racing my son Hunter up and down the stairs.  Now my 9 year old son says that when he grows up he wants to have his own hairless cat, just like David. Another David memory was when he was dropping off the pets again for us to pet sit, as he was frantically racing to the hospital for the birth of his beautiful baby girl Riley, in March, 2023. He was scattered and edgy but clearly so excited, with the biggest smile on his face. I just remember telling him, “you got this.” It is a memory I will carry with me for as long as I live. Thank you David for being the person you were. I will always be grateful for the time I got to spend with you. You were an incredible person and while my time knowing you was short, it was so cherished. And Lauren, your California family loves you. You always have a home here with us if you ever need it. Remember that his legacy will live on through you and Riley. He loved you both so much. RIP David❤️
