I just learned about Connie’s passing. I haven’t been in touch for many years. I knew her from her time at ISU. We had a mutual friends at Walker Hall and Dunn Barton. I recall her smile and laughter. I hope that her last days were peaceful. Now she is at peace.
I miss her terribly.  We had the same sense of humor and shared many an anecdote about the ridiculousness around us..nobody gets you like a sister.
This makes me so sad. Connie was so much fun and full of life that it brightened any room she entered. I have fond memories of Connie when I think back to those times. I'm glad that she was a friend and a part of my life. I read through and saw the pictures that were posted and when I saw her smiling it made me smile, I think that was just the way she made people feel.

I just recently learned of Connie's passing and am so saddened for her family and friends.  I, too, knew her in our adolescent years, and agree with all the sentiments expressed by my classmates about her.  She was such a bubbly and kind personality who was the one we all admired and wanted to be like.
Hello. I apologize as I never learned the best way to cope with the loss that has happened in my life, and I am not the best at giving my condolences. I know that no matter what anyone says, it will not change the outcome. Albeit this, know that you and your whole family is loved by many, even some that you may have never met. Although I do not personally know Connie, and have never had the pleasure of meeting her, I have kept her in my prayers. She has done so much for the people around her and I hope that everyone in your family can see the positive impact she has left in her wake. Moving forward will be difficult, but I hope that you all will follow in her footsteps to be as humble and caring for those that surround you, and continue living her legacy through yourselves. Each of you carry a part of her, and by following in her footsteps, she can continue to live forever in each of you. I know this is something she would want. I hope that this brings each of you together to provide comfort, and that you may see past each other's differences to be the best you can be for the greater good of the people around you. I hope that the support you have seen so far has shown how beautiful your impact can be on those in your community. Much love, -M

Dearest Katherine, Emma and Mark,

We have been away for years but I have never forgotten the bright and wonderful and ever competent Connie, and am distressed to think of the many great friends and dearest family who  will miss her smiling reassurance and loving presence. I remember that no matter how busy, and she was always, she took time to say hello, or chat or even just give you a smile. I think of Connie in her garden happy to show off the flowers and herbs and  the abundance of raspberries that were growing over the fence. It was a peaceful  moment grabbed in the middle of a long day and the image stays with me. Maud used to baby sit with Katherine and Emma and she worked at Inglenook, where I used to feel so welcome when the kids were little and we were new to Geneva. She joins me and all my family sending our love and respects.

Sincerely,

Theresa, Keith, Esme, Maud and James Ellis

I haven’t seen Connie in a very long time but I will always remember her radiant smile and uplifting personality especially when talking about her family and how much she loved them.

Dear Mark and Beloved Family,

How Patricia and I love all of you. Deeply so deeply. We will not be able to join all of you at the Visitation, due to Patricia’s current serious health issues. She cannot be left alone. But know that we will both be there through our hearts that love Connie so much. When Pat had her stroke, Connie and you Mark came to our home and brought food and incredible living healing energy. It was Pat’s first day home.

Right now, we are both sitting here on the couch thinking of Connie. All of a sudden,  Pat who has aphasia started to speak as best as she could. And with true sincerity, she prayed for Connie out loud through The Irish Blessing.  Patricia said:  This is love for Connie:

Irish Blessing

May the roads rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

May the rains fall soft upon fields

And until we meet again

May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

———

We will see you at The Celebration of Life in January.

And do not forget we are both with all you at the Visitation through the deep love we will always hold in our hearts Connie and All of You, dear family.

With So Much Love,

Susan and Patricia

I, like  so many people find it really unfathomable that Connie is no longer with us in body. The pandemic really didn’t make it conducive to see many people over the last couple years, or keep relationships kindled. And sadly, I hadn’t seen Connie in a long time.

She was always   of upliftment. Her presence always felt comforting. She was as much a part of fabric of Geneva as any of the iconic landmarks or the landscape. But in Connie‘s subtly powerful , yet modest demeanor she sat in the background while others to credit. What I noticed about Connie while  renting the lower level of Inglenook Pantry’s lower level for my yoga studio for seven years, was that this was a woman who Cared deeply for her family and community. And she would do anything it took to support that family and that community.

Honestly, never have I seen a harder worker other than my own parents. I so respected her and Mark for that very reason, and for their old world,  sort of corny, yet beautiful, morals, and ethics. In a community enmeshed, in the externals of wealth and materialism , Connie epitomized to me a groundedness that seems to be missing in our world.

I am forever grateful for her and Mark’s presence in my life and the beauty they brought together,  to the community through their cooking,  their love, the markets and their generosity~  to me when I needed a place to make a living.

In addition, Connie and Mark both supported my son when he was going through a very trying time  and hired him. Connie was immensely compassionate and non-judgmentsl.

I like Susan Field can hardly believe there isn’t a Connie Weaver in the world anymore. What I know though is that the heart of Connie ,who touched so many , can now reach out through those she touched with her quieting loving presence, and continue to comfort❤️

Honestly, the world would be a far better place if there were more people in it like Connie and I am so deeply sadden that her life was shortened. You were blessed with both a beautiful mom and for you, Mark, a wife and friend. . . my condolences go to you, Mark, Katherine and Emma. Much love and appreciation🙏🙏🙏

We send deep love and comfort to you, Mark and Family. The kindness of Connie’s Love was and always will be so sincere. And she and you, Mark, gave

that loving kindness to Patricia and to me during times of great duress. We can never forget.

How we adored  Connie, so filled with spirit and deep belief  and respect for all of life.  Every time Pat and I even said her name, we smiled, feeling the safety of her love.

And we will always smile when we think of her, even through our tears that now fall. My heart is hurting right now because I still can’t seem to believe she is not here. Yet I can feel her saying to me: “Please pass the heart of love to those in need.” And, then my own heart strengthens in her name.

Connie is sending her love now and always. We all can feel it. Blessings,

Susan Frances and Patricia

Katherine, I am so sorry for your family's loss. You are always such a happy, caring person. I'm sure this is a reflection of your mother. May the joyful times in her life be the remembrances that you share.
Peace and love to you, Mary Beth
I was shocked and saddened to learn about Connie’s death.  Despite not having seen or talked with her for decades, I remember her warmth, intelligence, and good humor.  She was one of those people you remember, a lovely person who gave much of herself without asking much in return.  She will be sorely missed.  My heart goes out to her family.

WOW, everyone. You have us shocked with how much support you have given us! It has been so lovely reading through the memories everyone has shared as well as looking through all of the old pictures. It truly gives me and my family so much comfort to see how loved my mom was.

It has been such an overwhelming, dream-like past few days and reaching  our goal gives us tremendous peace of mind during these difficult times. We truly thank everyone so much for your support, condolences, memories, thoughts, and contributions. I know my mom is out there somewhere crying her eyes out with how much support the community has shown <3

Connie was my best friend for many years and quite simply put she was the best friend.  She had a lot of gifts.  She was kind, smart, fun, beautiful, loyal and a gamer.  She was a natural leader and open to everything.  She was part of my extended family accompanying us on vacations and holidays. We shared lots of adventures. I am devastated by her passing and thinking of her family.  She had a tremendously productive career and positive impact on her community.  Miss you Connie.
Katherine, Emma, and Mark, John and I are so saddened by Connie’s passing. Our deepest condolences.  Connie was a beautiful and always fun cousin and my heart is hurting. She will be missed. - Amy

I am sure many have the same thoughts as I do who knew Connie well from grade school thru high school.  She was funny, kind, really smart and engaging.   Everyone liked that girl - there was nothing not to like.    She could accomplish about anything she wanted to,    At times I thought I would look her up during a trip to the Chicago area just to see her again.    I waited too long and I am terribly sorry about that.    I am even more sorry for her family and friends in Geneva.      Brett Haugland

I thought Connie was the coolest girl in Junior High. She was really smart and the class president (I think). Cooler yet, she beat me in a 50 yard dash. As a boy, it was a bit humbling, but I thought she was awesome!

It is clear she was loved by so many. God Bless her and her family.
