The years of friendship I shared with Cate during our adolescence shaped my view of friendship entirely. She is rooted so deep in my heart because of this and because of who she was. She was absolutely sure of herself and who she was at a time when none of us were. She lived her truth loud and proud and with a light that shone so bright. Her warmth was engulfing, and her mind was fascinating. She has always been the most brilliant person I know, and I am certain I will never meet another person like her.
So, Catherine, in your honor I will strive everyday to live my truth and live it to the highest extent possible. I will cherish every day and think of you with every deep belly laugh and every illegal turn I make at a stop light. So much love to Isabel, Matt, TC, Sarah, her entire family, friends, and all of those who have been touched by her.

One of our favorite memories is a trip we took to Bend, OR with Tony and Cate. Cate's positivity, warmth, and joy lit up the whole weekend. She was up for anything, including casting a fly rod from a drift boat. It's possible she caught the most fish out of all of us, although Peter and Tony would contest that fact. But what we do remember, quite clearly, is that, per usual, she spent the entire day smiling and bringing joy to those who were lucky enough to be with her. We vividly remember her laughing in the soft rain next to Tony.
There are no words to describe this loss. Cate was brilliant, capable, kind, and beautiful. We are beyond grateful to have known her, and will miss her dearly. Sending love, strength, and light to her many friends and family during this unfathomable time.
Tony, we love you so much. We are here for you always.
