Please accept my condolences. It is heartbreaking to lose a loved one in death. No matter how much time we may spend with them, it feels like it was never enough. We find comfort in the promise made by our Heavenly Father, "That there is going to be a resurrection". (Acts 24:15) We all dearly hold on to this future hope. When Gods makes a promise, it is as good as fulfilled. It will come true.

I’m so incredibly saddened to hear of Carl passing. Carl and I were suitemates at Washington University along with Matt Kelly, John Vacek, Tim Friedlein, and Prasanta Chetri. There are so many great memories of our time at WashU. We studied hard but also partied most Friday nights where The Best of the Doobie Brothers was usually at the top of the playlist.
The thing I’ll always remember about Carl is how smart he was. Carl had a keen analytical mind and he loved debating any issue. You had to know your stuff with Carl and if you didn’t you suffered the consequences. I think I learned more from one debate with Carl than any college course I took.
We all got together in 2022 in St. Louis and even though it had been many years since our time at WashU we sat around telling stories in such detail as though it was last week. I’m from New York and Carl was from Dallas. We came from different parts of the country and different backgrounds but it didn’t matter. I’m so glad I got to see Carl a few years ago and will always remember him as we were many years ago partying on a Friday night listening to the Doobie Brothers.
My condolences to Nina, Jess, and the entire Wibbenmeyer family. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
