Patrick Leroy Dunbar, 81, of Cabot passed away Thursday, January 18,2024. He was born June 21, 1942 in Galesburg, Illinois to the late Lee Roy and Hazel McMahan Dunbar. As anyone who has ever encountered Patrick, they would agree that he has never met a stranger. He loved to talk to folks. Additionally, one of his thrills was coaching and mentoring youth sports teams to ensure all his players learned to love and respect the game as he did. Whether it was baseball or basketball, he wanted to instill the fundamentals and teamwork into all his young players. When it came to watching sports, he loved to follow Los Angeles Dodgers baseball and the University of Notre Dame football & basketball. In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Allene Dunbar and daughter, Kara Barney.

Those left to cherish the memories of Patrick include his son, Ryan (Christie) Dunbar; sister, Nancy (Milt) Anderson; grandchildren, Cade Dunbar, Grant Dunbar and Darcie (Jake) Dreher and numerous extended family members and friends.
