So many memories. So many good times. I just remember you always gave THE BEST hugs. Your eyes would light up when you saw me and that big beautiful smile of yours would light across your face. Between you and Auntie Karen, Lilah and Nessa were destined to have big bright eyes and beautiful Colgate smiles. You always called me “your first daughter”. The last time we spoke you told me that you “loved me before I knew what love was.” And, that no
matter how old I get I would “always be your baby.” I cherish the times we had together. Because, of you and my father, I know what love means. I’m so grateful that you showered me with love and praise my whole life. I’m thankful you extended that love to my children and to my husband. And I’m so glad that they all got to know you and love you as I do. Tink especially has so many fond memories of his time with you. He talks about how you marveled at his resemblance to Uncle David. Richard, my husband, reminds me so much of you, by the way. He’s like the perfect mixture of you and daddy. I had great blueprints to draw from when picking a husband. I’m so glad that the last time we talked I told you “God knew I needed to hear your voice.” Because, I truly did. I got to make you blush and giggle for a change. Lol Thank you for being you. My precious, priceless Uncle Bernard. I remember you telling me how much you missed my dad. And that he was your best friend. Rest well now with your buddies, Daddy and Uncle David. Kiss em for me. Till we meet again.
Uncle Bernard, you will truly be missed. You always gave me advice and I will never forget how after I graduated high school you to make sure I keep God with me to direct my path. I really wish you was able to meet my daughter Autumn but you will always be there with her spiritually

Toby Houston and Akira Houston sending all our condolences and love to the family. We’ve been friends for a very long time. It was wonderful to see “B” as we called him at the wedding. He will be missed but I know that he and Honey are already hooting it up. RIP B.

My deepest sympathy, I was devastated to hear about Byron, I have been his mailman for the last 5 years. Always looking for that “big check” he was gonna share! He would never hesitate to stop me whenever he saw me to see how I was doing and to say hi. He was a great guy around the neighborhood and I only heard good thing about him. He is going to be missed and it was a great pleasure to have meet him. -Chris Marques
I remember your father, Bernard. He was always smiling. I enjoyed talking with him at family gatherings at Aunt Rita’s & Uncle Paul. I know you will miss him but he is nearby watching over you. I know he loves you. God bless you. Love you , Robyn (Michael) Sims. My husband went to have a year ago and I know he was there to greet Bernard when he went to heaven. I will be praying for you

My deepest sympathies to the family. Byron was a great guy. I met him at one of many NWS meetings we attended over the years. Always considered him a friend. So sorry he left us so soon.
I am so, so sad to hear! I worked with Bryron at NWS Denver in the early 80s and absolutely loved him! His positive energy, loving and fun personality lit up the room. I had a chance to speak with him a few years ago and it's like we had never lost touch. He is missed by a lot of people.
What? So sad and in shock now! Byron and i were best buddies all the years we worked at NWS Denver! We still kept in contact over the years and always planned on visiting each other again! I am so sorry for his family and loved ones!

Sending my deepest condolences and prayers to the family. I've known Byron through Blacks In Government for years and will always remember his positive energy and support. He always brought life to our conversations. I will truly miss the bright smile he greeted everyone with, his impeccable style and swag, and his genuine personality.

On our way to Jamaica
I was snapping a quick selfie while we was on the plane going to Jamaica. I'm gonna miss my OG, he had a smile that lights up the room.
My sincere condolences to Byron's family. He was my very dear friend, and I will miss him terribly.

I am very sad to hear about Byron. Byron was a rare and special person. He is one of the kindest, friendliest, and joyful people I have ever known. He had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. I had the privilege to work with Byron at the National Weather Service for nearly 15 years. He was my supervisor and always gave me advice and encouragement, especially during some difficult times in my early career. He was a great leader, extremely fair and a great example to all of us on how to treat others. He certainly will be missed.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Byron left a permanent imprint on the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He had an incredibly warm and caring spirit, fun and full of life. He will be greatly missed.
To my family I love all of y'all and this is hard, one thing about uncle Bernard is he loved his kids and family. To my cousins I know this pain is hard to handle we know how much you guys loved him and how much he love y'all we are here for you guys. Praying for you guys and the rest of the family.
My deepest condolences to Byron's family, especially his kids. I really enjoyed working with and learning from Byron. I was a high school COOP student in 1981, and worked a lot with Byron at the Galena NWS office in Denver, and Byron was always so kind, friendly and made everyone laugh and smile. His kindness and sense of humor were so contagious to everyone.
