Dear Bob, Brad and Youkilis Family, My deepest condolences to you all during this incredibly difficult time. Andy’s memorial service today at Adath Israel was a beautiful tribute to your amazing, one of a kind, giant of a man, brother, husband, father, and friend. It was so nice to hear you all speak about your wonderful Andy. I am truly sorry for your loss. Lori Schaen WHS ‘85
I wish I could be there today with family and friends to honor, celebrate and remember Andy, who remains forever dear and special to all. His was a life well lived and he packed more into his 56 years than most of us could in multiple lifetimes. Enduring love for family and friends, zest for life, deep compassion for humanity, appreciation of the arts, thirst for knowledge and desire to always reach for new heights and that’s just a start..
Andy. One of our dearest friends, who left the biggest hole in our hearts; a loved “second dad” to our son Pietro; with Iva, unparalleled companion of magic weekend adventures and dinners of pizzoccheri and Braulio; inventor of the famous and delicious “caffè dell’egoismo” (“selfish coffee”) …he, who was one of the most generous, unselfish human beings we have ever met…
I was the Neuro spine coordinator when he came to Missouri Baptist and had the pleasure of going over his needs to start working with us. Such a kind person and a pleasure to work with. He introduced me to some new instruments we had never had available and I learned a few things. RIP Doc. Glad I had the privilege to be a small part of your time in Surgery at Mo Bap.
