Dearest Andrew,

It is our joy and blessing to have you as our beloved son. You have brought many happy moments, fun and joy to the family. Even in your relaxed and easy-going manner, you had done very well in your studies, your career and interests (including music, composition, creating innovative products), as well as marrying your loved wife and giving birth to two lovely and talented children!

You are very lucky to be married to Venchilli who stood by your side and cared for you so dearly! You are also lucky to have a mum, a brother, relatives, and close friends who loved you so much and supported you!

We will always remember your sweet smile and pleasant and accommodating personality, as well as a happy boy during your childhood!

Despite spending 30 more years than you in the IT industry, I will never be able to match your technical skills, both in hardware and software! Your quest for knowledge also impressed me, especially in taking an on-line AI Course with the University of Helsinki only last year!

You will always be greatly missed! But we are sure that you are finding peace in God’s bosom surrounded by angels.

In paradisum deducant te angeli; in tuo adventu suscipiant te martyres, et perducant te in civitatem sanctam Jerusalem. Chorus angelorum te suscipiat, et cum Lazaro quondam paupere æternam habeas requiem. (Requiem by Fauré in Latin)

"May the angels lead you into paradise; may the martyrs receive you at your arrival and lead you to the holy city Jerusalem. May choirs of angels receive you and with Lazarus, may you have eternal rest."

Till we meet eternally in the Kingdom of God!

Love forever.

You will be deeply missed Drew Drew. I hope you are now at a place where there’s no pain.

Rest in peace.

My heart goes out to you and your family. Andrew played a pivotal role in my life, helping me kickstart my career and navigating those first few years alongside me. I have so many cherishable memories of our time working together. His legacy lives on in everyone he mentored, including myself.

My sincere sympathies to Sir Andrew's family.  I'm grateful to have been a member of your family.                   From the start, I witnessed Sir Andrew courageously dealing with his illness and hardships.  He was a true warrior. Sir Andrew had a calm and kind nature and treated everyone with respect.

I pray that God will give the whole family comfort and strength.

My prayers are with his soul. May he rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the Lai family, Chilli, Jasper and Joses. I’m so sorry to hear about the sudden news. Sending you warm hugs during this difficult time.

May the Lord fill you with His peace and give you great strength to continue your walk in life, and also to carry on Andrew’s amazing legacy in the days to come!

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27

Take care, you guys ❤️

Dear Uncle Daniel and Auntie Grace,

We were heartbroken and shocked to learn of Andrew's passing. Please accept our sincere condolences - my mum, my sister and I have been thinking of you and your family since hearing the news earlier.

We will always remember Andrew for his kindness, courage and quiet strength - qualities that touched everyone who knew him. Our families have shared so many moments through the decades, and we hope that the love and memories surrounding you bring some comfort in the days ahead.

With all our love and deepest sympathy,

The Auyeung Family

I am still shocked that you are gone so soon. I will always remember you as a guy of many talents. Smart and cheerful, seems like you could always solve any IT problems, then later chill at night playing the guitar. #dadgoals. Rest easy and know that your kids will continue to be loved and supported by everyone who was dear to you

Memories from 3 decades ago have been rushing back …

... from UNSW to Marsfield.

... from karaoke to parties.

... from the beaches to the mountains.

... from Sydney to Hong Kong.

You had always wore your ever-present smile ...

You had always dedicated to your music ...

Drew, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

一路走好!

Drew, you will be deeply miss…

Dear Chilli,

My sincere condolences for your loss. I am sorry for not having been in touch all these years and that the first time I am reaching out is in these circumstances. I can see that Andrew had an incredibly successful and fulfilling life with you by his side. While I wasn’t particularly close to Andrew myself during our CLAPS days, I remember us having lots of fun and laughter together in our rehearsals. Andrew’s musical talents were undeniable. You are right that, while he is no longer with us physically, he is watching over you and your children.

Take care of yourself and please stay strong, which I am sure you will.

Wancy (from CLAPS)

You were a kind and easygoing person, a wonderful father, and a devoted husband. May you find everlasting peace in heaven.

In the first day of my Year 1 university studies, on a Monday at 9:00 a.m. Week1, I was attending MATHS 1A at Matthew’s Theatre,  a young man with a warm smile came in and sat next to me, he then introduced himself: “Hi, I’m Andrew from Hong Kong, studying EE. I did high school in Queensland and just settled in Sydney last week”.  He offered me a Handshake. Thank you for being my very first university friend!

We shared many joyful moments in "Quad" (canteen) , along with many overnights in the project labs and many other activities along with our uni friends. Those days remain precious memories.

As life moved on, we didn’t got chance to meet often, but whenever we did, we could talk endlessly. Thankfully, during my career break last year, we caught up many many times within just three months. We shared recent stories, memories from the old days, and plenty of 低能野 and 爛gags — things only old friends would understand.

I will never forget our last catch-up in late Sep last year. After a wonderful lunch, after you stepped onto the shuttle bus, then you suddenly turned back, got off the bus and gave me a Handshake & said goodbye once more.

I will always cherish our friendship. Rest in peace, Andrew. You will be deeply missed, and your similing , talent, and music will forever remain in our hearts.

It was a pleasure working with you, RIP, and condolences to the family
Andrew was taken far too early from us.  Life often seems so unfair and cruel, but we must also remember what it has given us.  For me, it gave me the gift of meeting Andrew, one of the gentlest souls I have ever met.  An incredibly intelligent, kind and thoughtful individual whom I shared many interests with.  We didn't spend as much time together as we could have - we always think we have 'more time' in the future to catch up - but I will never forget our encounters over the past 16 years.  As he told me last year, 'those memories never fade" and he was right.  I will always remember our chats about F1, 1980s Cantopop, Alan Tam (his last gift to me were two 1980s Alan Tam tapes!).  Andrew, I regret not spending more time with you, I regret not being able to work closer with you and share our careers, but I also give thanks for having known such a fantastic person as you, to give me the privilege of being able to call you a friend, and for giving me memories that will never fade.

To the Lai Family,

I am writing this with a very heavy heart. Learning about Andrew’s passing has been a massive shock; it’s hard to wrap my head around the fact that someone so full of life is gone.

Andrew wasn't just a high school mate; he was a huge part of my formative years.

His support and encouragement of my business endeavours, and personal life will always be remembered and appreciated.

He handled his illness with so much dignity, but I am just at a loss for words that we’ve lost him so soon. He was a one-of-a-kind person, and I feel lucky to have called him my friend.

Rest in peace, Andrew. You’ll be missed more than words can say.

Sincerely,

Keven Lo
