Winna's obituary
Winna Denneise "Dee" Landua
Winna Denneise Landua, 60, of Burnet, TX, passed away on May 20, 2023 after a fatal car accident in Liberty Hill, Texas.
Winna, who was known as Denneise to most, was born on December 8th, 1962 to Mr. John A. and Paula R. Landua in Hamilton, Texas. She spent her early childhood in Hamilton where her parents were managing a chicken farm for the Gerald Company. John started a new job working for a subsidiary of Shell Oil Company and from their the family moved to Bandera, Texas and all over the US. From 1968-1969, Denneise attended Premier First in Poplarville, Mississippi. In 1969 she started first grade at Poplarville Elementary School. On the road again, Denneise and her family moved to Mobile, Alabama, where the family experienced their first hurricane; then to LaFayette, Louisiana; Traverse City, Michigan and then finally, Leander, Texas where they bought a house and settled the family. She attended Leander Junior High where she played basketball in 6th grade and ran track in 7th grade and on up into high school. Denneise attended and graduated from Leander High school in 1981. She got married to Gregory W. Bartley on May 3, 1981, just before her graduation and went on to have her first daughter in 1984.
After her first marriage, which lasted about four years, she fell in love again and had three other children with her second husband, Ramiro Rosales. She had a rough journey through her marital years, and even though her marriages didn’t work out, she never regretted the outcome of having her children.
After struggling to get back on her feet, she went on to better herself. Denneise became a Certified Nursing Assistant in December of 1994 and completed a Restorative Aide Course on July 27th, 1995. She started her career in nursing at St. Davids hospital in Austin, TX in the physical therapy rehab ward helping her patients heal and recover from injuries and sicknesses. While she was working there, she continued her education as a healthcare professional through Austin Community College. On May 26, 2000, she successfully completed a Basic Phlebotomy Skills course; on June 21, 2000 she completed Aseptic Techniques and Skills training; on July 17, 2000 she completed a Team Building and Communications course; on July 19, 2000 she completed Acute Care Skills training; and on August 8, 2000 she completed a Telemetry & Monitoring Skills course. She was loyal and passionate in her work and put her whole heart into helping others. She worked for Bertram Nursing and Rehab for a decade and then, until her death, worked for Girling Home Healthcare where she was a Home Health Aide for the elderly. She was extremely passionate about caring for her clients and residents throughout her years in long term care. She didn’t see them as mere patients or clients, but as dear friends. She did everything she could to make them laugh and bring quality to their daily lives.
Her greatest accomplishments in life, she bragged about on many occasions, were her four beautiful children and all her grandbabies. She expressed how she was so proud of her daughter Mandi for being such a strong woman and the way that she showed her pride in her family and work; Denneise loved the fact that she was a teacher, mother, and devoted wife. She always shared her proudness of Mandi with friends and family. She supported Mandi with the way she has chosen to live her life and raise her family while providing happiness. Denneise continued to be an amazing mother and never gave up on her daughter Monica, who had struggled early in life. She was always there for her to help and support her as Monica healed and became someone she looked at as her best friend and the person she would look to for guidance. Denneise’s pride continued on to her only son, the only grandson of the family, Jonathan, who started his career in the United States Navy, and then went on to graduate from Mary Harden Baylor in Belton, TX with a degree in Engineering and has since remodeled and restored Denneise’s childhood home in Leander, Texas back to it's former glory, and his strength as the patriarch of the family. Her daugher, Jacquolynn, who went to Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, graduating with her Bachelor's in English as well as her Masters in Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction, who now is a district Instructional Coach for Florence ISD. Denneise continued to support, encourage, and push Nicole to pursue her passions to help and educate others who came into her life. Denneise loved each of her grandchildren just as much; she was always so proud of each of them and the things they have accomplished and will continue to accomplish. When all of them were born, she was always the proudest Grandma anyone would ever know. Denneise had two nieces that she loved and who loved her, and one of which thought of her like a second mother.
This was Denneise’s life, one surrounded by family and those she loved and who loved her. She once wrote that her plan in life was to become an LVN nurse, get married and have a close family. It seems that she hit the bullseye. Her father did always say she could hit anything with a bullet if she aimed for it. She will be forever missed and loved. It is with sadness and heartbreak that we say goodbye to Denneise, but we shall cherish every moment and memory that each of us carry of her. She will never be forgotten for she has touched each of our lives in different ways and peace comes to us who knew that she also loved God and had faith in Jesus Christ. One day we will join her in God’s Heavenly Kingdom to see her again. May she rest in peace.
She was preceded in death by her father John A. Landua, sister Jacquolynn Meyer, and niece Amy E. Meyer and grandparents Robert A. Adams, Winnie R. (Richardson) Adams, Rube Landua, and Alvina Agnes Mina (Seilheimer) Landua. She is survived by her mother Paula R. Landua, sister Mary J. Lobodzinski and Husband Bob, her Daughter Mandi L.
