William's obituary
WOODINGTON, William Stanley, age 67, passed away Friday, December 15th, 2023. Born March 6th, 1956, he was a beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. Affectionately known as “Woody” or “Uncle Bill” to many, he was a native of Detroit, MI living in Plymouth, MI as he settled into his retirement. He was a 1974 graduate of Cody High School in Detroit and retired in 2018 after serving over 40 years in the grocery industry at both Farmer Jack and Kroger.
His favorite memories included hunting and fishing in northern Michigan with his brothers and friends, camping, attending concerts, barbecuing, and being surrounded by his family and loved ones. His unwavering passion for music permeated through to his children and anyone who surrounded him, and his talent for brightening up the room with jokes was endless throughout his life. He will always be remembered for his ability to make anyone smile and being one of a kind.
Preceded in death by his parents Harry and Rose, brothers John and Greg, and sister Geri (Treppa). He is survived by his son William, daughters Melissa and Alison, sister Toni, brother Larry, grandson Caleb, former spouse Nancy, multiple nieces and nephews, and many others. He will be greatly missed by all.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial dinner to celebrate Bill’s life at Mama Mia’s Italian Restaurant in Livonia on Friday, January 19th 2024 from 5:00-10:00 PM located at 27770 Plymouth Rd, Livonia, MI 48150.
