It is with great sadness that we share that William (Bill) Robert Winterburn passed away on August 4th, 2022 at the age of 76, surrounded by his family. Bill had fought a brave 6-year battle against multiple myeloma, and passed peacefully holding the hands of his family.

Bill was born on January 30, 1946 in Toronto, and grew up in the Kingsway neighbourhood of Etobicoke. He graduated with a degree in business and marketing from U of T, and went on to complete his MBA at Western. Bill had a successful 38-year career in business, 12 years with Canadian General Electric, then 26 years running Hallite Seals Canada.

Bill loved his family, and is survived by his wife of 35 years Mary Lynne, daughters Shannon and Julie, and grandchildren Henry and Mackenzie. He was a great husband, dad and grandfather, and will be missed immensely by his family as they have to go on in life without him.

Bill was also loved by his wide circle of friends, from the squash club, church, golfing, and childhood friends. He especially appreciated their support during the years that he was sick.

Bill was patient, kind, level-headed, a great listener, and got along with everyone he met. He was also competitive: equally successful in his career, on the squash court, and in a game of cards at the cottage. He had a great sense of humour that he kept with him right until the end.

He will be always in our thoughts and prayers. May he rest easy now.
