William C. Spinks fell asleep in death on Tuesday June 18, 2019 at 85 years of age. He was surrounded by family and was at peace. He was born in Ramsuer, NC to his predeceased parents James Herbert and Rosa Spinks.
He then lived in Stamford, CT where he worked at CT Transit for 21 years from 1977-1998. William then moved his family to Bridgeport, CT where he retired and lived out the remainder of his years.
William was the widower of his cherished first wife, Margaret Joretta Spinks who passed away in March of 1990 and then married his beloved second wife, Nancy Spinks who passed away in April of 2016. William was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and attended the Seaside Congregation Kingdom Hall. William loved Jehovah God.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dogs, feeding the birds in the park and old time country western music.
William is predeceased by 8 of his brothers and sisters and his surviving siblings are: Myrtle Nash of PA, Bessie Philips, Irving Spinks, Alonzo Spinks, Lena Craven and Letha Trogden all of NC.
He is survived by his children: Ramona Spinks and Pierre Davenport of CA, Florendia Harris and Michael Spinks of NC, Tonya Gilliard, Randell Spinks (Grindel), Wendy Brown (Jesse), Rodney Spinks, Ginger Spinks, Aleck Spinks (Therese), Tiffiney Henry (William), Tyshawn Spinks (Theresa) all of CT, Shantae Mollison of NY. William has 19 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild - Shy’la Mirai Pagan followed by a host of nephews and nieces.
The memorial Service will be on Saturday, June 29, 2019 @ 11am in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located on 330 West Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06604. Repast will follow directly after the memorial service located at Success Village, 100 Court D, Bridgeport, CT 06610.
