I used to live with the Shoops as a live-in nanny back in 1994. I came all the way from Austria and I really liked all of the children and Bill. He was always very kind and funny and he made the best BBQ. I will always remember him fondly.
59 years ago, Bill and I drove with Bob Gregoire to Las Vegas to celebrate Bill’s 21st birthday.  It was a memorable time!
I truly loved the way Bill called to check on us, especially my mom, Diane Briscoe! I miss his calls!!!

My sincerest condolences to those who knew and loved Bill.

I taught with Bill at San Clemente High School. This was a man loved by staff and students.

His gentle nature, great sense of humor, and wisdom will be missed by so many.

It makes me sad that I will not have the opportunity to talk and laugh with him again!

So sorry that this fine, happy and sweet man is gone.  He was genuinely a nice guy and always a pleasure to see and talk with him.  I definitely will miss Bill and his happy spirit.

Our dogs (both named Ginger)met each other at the Henderson Doggie Park and introduced us “parents” to each other.  This park is supposed to be opened daily at 7 am and the gate keeper was always late. Bill took it upon himself to meet and make friends with the gate keeper stating that he lived in view of this doggie park.  So instead of this gatekeeper getting continuous complaints by dog people for not having gates opened by 7 am; the gatekeeper gave bill a copy of the gate padlock.  No one was supposed to know about this.

Bill, being an early riser (5:30 am) would walk over and open the gates.  Most guys: 7, would arrive about 7 am.  I enjoyed my beauty sleep when in town so my dog and I would arrive at 8 am.  Bill would usually leave around this time but stayed to visit with me while our kids played with each other.  His dog never wanted to leave the park and all  of us had to “trap” his Ginger so Bill could  get her on leash and make her leave.

The Winter months were cold sitting on that concrete bench and Bill always had his warm pillow to sit in with a blanket over his lap. He decided that we needed to have Henderson come up with a plan to make a Solar/battery system to make heated concrete seats for us old guys.  Yeah right; good luck.

My Ginger would constantly jump in his lap seeing there was a warm blanket there regardless of Bill wanting her there.  She wasn’t as little and light like his Ginger; but he tolerated her.

When his Ginger passed he still came over in the morning and opened the 2 gates.  Big dogs to the right; little dogs to the left.   He waited for us to arrive to visit and help search for a new pet.  Happily he found another dog.

He will be deeply missed by all his Henderson Nv doggie park friends.

Bill was one of those people who always brought joy to those who had the good fortune to know him.  He was a special man and will be missed by many.
I am so sorry to hear that Bill has passed away. Bill was an amazing man, I always enjoyed talking to him. We talked a lot about golf, which he was very good at. We had always planned to play a game together but I had some back problems that kept me from playing, then with his problems he had to stop playing. He always had a smile and a friendly greeting. I will remember fondly and miss him. My condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed. 🙏
