• 1:15 PM: Family Arrives

• 1:30 PM: Friends Arrive

Note: Please park in the Assembly Area near the Admin Building

• 2:00 PM: Vehicle Processional Departs (4-minute drive)

• 2:04 PM: 20-minute Memorial Service will Military Honors

• 2:24 PM: Guests Depart and Family Witnesses Final Interment (10 minutes)

Plan to be at the cemetery from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM.

Celebration of Life / No-Host Early Dinner

Please wear comfortable clothing. Everyone’s gotta eat. Celebrate Top’s life with food, drink, and stories.

Casual gathering in Candlewood Suites Dumfries-Quantico hotel lobby after the dinner, as desired. Drinks provided – cooler style.

Logistics:

Service: Parking/staging: Upon entering Quantico National Cemetery, cars should proceed to the Administration Building and park in the Assembly Area in the assigned lane (we’re told this is right next to the Admin Building). Family will have arrived early and stage their car(s) at the head of the vehicle procession. At 2pm, a Quantico representative will lead the procession to the service location. Once at the service location, family and friends will exit vehicles and proceed to service location. Service will consist of military honors and words from General Arnie Fields, beloved family friend and Marine. Upon service conclusion, guests will exit the cemetery in their vehicles; family will follow Quantico representative to final resting site to witness the internment of ashes.

Family’s hope and intent is to gather informally after the service at the hotel to connect with friends and family. Those at the hotel and nearby can gather in hotel common area for snacks and beverages, and/or later at nearby Tidewater Grill for dinner/drinks.

Hotel: Group hotel is Candlewood Suites Dumfries-Quantico with a special rate of $129/night. If you don’t live in the area, you’ll likely need a rental car (though rideshare – Uber, Lyft, and carpooling – may be possible; reach out if this is something you need help coordinating).
