Sam's obituary

Mr. Sam Hart, age 76, of the New Branch Community, died Sunday, September 20, 2020, in Summer’s Landing Senior Living Community in Vidalia after a sudden illness. He was a native of New Branch and was a 1962 graduate of Reidsville High School. He was a lifelong farmer, lived in Toombs County most of his life and was a member of the Providence Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Hart; parents, William Cecil Hart and Jessie Bland Hart; and a sister, Doris Hart.

Mr. Hart is survived by three children Herschel Hart and wife Jessie of Stillmore, Dr. Samuel Bee Hart and wife Aimee, and Elizabeth Hart Harvill and husband Jason, all of Vidalia; one brother, Jones Hart and wife Susan of the Center Community; one sister, Mary Nichols of Reidsville; seven grandchildren, Courtney Akridge, Aiden Harvill, Ethan Hart, Landon Lindsey, Autumn Hart, Jocelyn Harvill and Landon Harvill; one great-granddaughter, Lily Elaine Dunn; and four nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Providence Missionary Baptist Church on Wednesday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

A graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 23rd, at 3:00 p.m. in the Providence Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Wayne Kirkley and Ronnie McCall officiating.

In lieu of flowers and meals, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 156, Vidalia, GA 30475.
