William R. Brock, 79, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2022, at Hospice of the Valley with his wife Judy, son Ron and Daughter-in-law Mynde by his side. Bill was born on June 9, 1943, in San Francisco, California, to William C. Brock and Jeanette I. Olson Brock.

Bill was raised in Alameda, California, where he enjoyed pinewood derby racing, camping, fishing, hiking and bike riding. He was a Boy Scout, proudly achieving the Eagle Scout Badge, before graduating from Alameda High in 1961. Bill and Judy met in their early teens and enjoyed a friendship. After high school their friendship would blossom into a lifetime of love. Three years after high school, on November 30, 1963, Bill married the love of his life, Judy Druecker, together they started an adventure of a lifetime. Together they raised three children across five different states. (CA, MN, TX, NM, AZ) Bill completed a two-year technical degree in electronics and went to work for Lawrence Livermore Labs. A few years later Bill was hired by IBM and eventually retired from there after 28 years. Bill went on to work for American Express and finally retired for good in 2004.

Bill and Judy enjoyed traveling, with and without the kids. Not a summer went by where Bill and his boys didn’t end up changing a tire or two on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. A vacation wouldn’t be a vacation unless there was at least one trip to the ER in a strange town to pull fishing lures from someone’s head, treat an ear infection from swimming in the lakes, or find an emergency dentist.

Bill was a strong, loving, supportive husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

Bill is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Judy Brock, his sons, Ken (Lorie) Brock of Omaha, Nebraska; Ron (Mynde) Brock of Ingalls, Kansas; and daughter, Joyce Brock of Popoyo, Nicaragua; and his grandchildren Brandon Broadhurst, Korey Brock, Kayla Brock, Ryan Brock, and Keri Brock. He also has 4 great-grandchildren.

Bill is preceded in death by his father William C. Brock, Mother Jeanette I. Brock, and His Sister Barbara Brock.

A Celebration of Life for Bill will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Sun City, AZ  In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory can be made to St. Vincent dePaul or Hospice of the Valley
