To one of my best Friends, Bill Heck. I will never forget the friendship we forged for over 60 years. You were special to a lot of good people Godspeed my friend!
My condolences to Sky Bill's family. I first met Sky Bill at a pilot dinner for Thunderbird Balloon Festival Fall of 1986 or 87. We worked together on the "Sunrise takes to the Sky" balloon event for cancer kids and their families. He was my flight instructor and I crewed for him for many years . Helped him for the first few years of the "Colorado River Crossing" event in Yuma. I even got his chase crew van stuck in the sand as I was chasing him. He never got mad, just a little upset.
I met Bill in 1986 at the Albuquerque Fiesta. We became fast friends and always there for each other. He loved people, music, politics, travel, and just about everything. He was a sentimental, caring and generous person. Bill had friends from all walks of life besides hot air ballooning, this includes friends from high school, from his restaurant, the PI and legal world, along with his cigar and poker playing buddies. Bill loved his family and I feel fortunate to have met his grandfather, mother and sisters…along with his cousin Dave from Ohio. Bill was surrounded by love in so many ways and I’m so glad to have been included within his circle of friends. May you rest in peace my dear friend ❤️🕊️❤️
I was deeply saddened and shocked to hear about Bill's passing! He was truly a great guy with a kind heart and giving spirit. I will always remember him as someone who was fun to be around and easy to talk to. His presence brought joy and comfort to everyone who knew him.
