I had the privilege of knowing Will back in high school. Even then, he knew how to work and play hard- living life to its fullest. I will always remember how he pushed himself and the entire debate team to strive for perfection while having fun. I was so very sad to hear of his passing as Will has always been a larger than life character. I know this world has been made a better place because of him.

I offer my deepest condolences to Lindsey and the boys and all of those who had the honor to know this incredible soul.

The world has lost a treasured jewel.

May you rest in peace my friend.

We loved meeting Will’s family. They were all so full of life and energy…just like Will.

2006, Pamplona, Spain
Will planned an amazing trip to Spain which included a stop in Madrid to meet his family as well as the full Running of the Bulls experience. To this day, we still talk about the amazing time we had with Will and the rest of the gang.
I've been working with families for decades and my favorite thing about Will was his love for his kids! From doing daily school drop-offs, to coming on field trips, and showing up to all the school functions... you could truly see a father's love for his children, a commitment to their education, and the close bond he had with his entire family! I told him "It's so nice to have dads join us on field trips!" He responded, "That's what dads SHOULD do and it's great for their kids to see them showing up!" My heart is with the whole family and I pray for healing moments in the time to come.

Kenshoo London
Will was a huge part of our Kenshoo family. I was thinking about him just a couple of weeks ago as I looked over the photos on the wall in our London office, unaware of his condition. Hearing the news today, I realize how much he meant to our company and my own personal development. Thanks WMG

Will was a tremendous human being. He was passionate at work and gave everything to his team at Blue Shield. He impacted the lives of so many and will be forever in our hearts.

I was so sorry to hear of Will’s illness and over time what appeared was inevitable despite the tremendous effort from Will and Lindsay to take on whatever may be required.

I remember first hearing about and then meeting Will. I must say the exact details of when and where escape me—all I knew was that I was impressed.  A brilliant, kind, debonnair polyglot—entrepreneurial and mature. He also clearly made Lindsay so happy; and we were all so happy for her.

Being on opposite sides of the country, our interactions were limited. Weddings (of course Lindsay and Will’s where the joy of the day more than made up for the drubbing Alabama handed Michigan), San Francisco AUA—but it was through my annual meetings with Lindsay that I kept in touch with the entire (soon growing) Hampson Gil family.

Today Molly and I are at the culmination of our heartbreak hearing the news of Will’s passing. We have been so inspired by how he and Lindsay and the boys and their families have confronted this awful challenge, but today we are just so sad. Sad because a friend we love is left with a hole the size of Will’s grace, humor, wit and decency.

To Will I would want to say thank you—thank you for making my friend Lindsay who loves and cares for everyone in her life feel loved and cared for herself, for making her a mom, and for supporting her enthusiastically in her incredible professional pursuits. We will miss you so much.

To Lindsay, Cooper and Parker - we are thinking of you always. We love you and we are praying for your strength and comfort.
