I can see you were lucky to have her as a Grandmother she’s got that special sparkle in her smile and eyes. I bet she would prefer to be remembered and appreciated rather than missed.

Vasiko Story

There are many wonderful memories I have of my Mother. Being firm, she never spared the rod, and therefore I wasn't spoiled. I thank her for that and I'm grateful. My Mother, whom we called "Tiny", was always there for all of her children and family. and was a strong adequate provider. Tiny was a Teacher of the highest order and loved teaching. She taught school for over 40 years, retired, then returned as a full-time substitute. Her most earnest endeavor was to teach, and therefore my most powerful memory of my Lovely Mother is that of her sitting me on her lap and teaching me how to read from the Dick and Jane series of books. I'm truly sad because she's gone, but even more happy and grateful that she was here and was my Mother.

Condolences and sympathy to you Tosha and your entire family as you prepare the Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Wertna. She was indeed a child of God. With a  loving demeanor and ease for interacting with others. I believe that is why she and my mom, Ms. Barbara King, loved one another so. They bonded in their love for their family, their church work and their faith walk. The God of all creation has embraced her and given her sweet sleep. Mom loved her and sadly asked “she didn’t make it?”,  to which I replied, no mom, she DID make it!!!
