Wayne's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Wayne Pleasant. Born on August 22, 1975, Wayne left us far too soon on April 24, 2024. His hearty laughter, keen intellect, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.
Wayne was a person of incredible strength, often described as loud, bold, and living large. He was unashamedly nerdy and had a caring and generous nature that touched those around him. His authenticity was one of his defining qualities, encouraging us all to be true to ourselves, regardless of the opinions of others. His legacy, being a Phoenix who rose from the ashes regardless of childhood circumstances and trauma, reflects his resilience and tenacity.
Despite the challenges in his life, Wayne excelled in many areas. He took on the role of father figure for his younger sibling and other young men in the community. His dedication was recognized when he won the "100 Black Men of Atlanta Hank Aaron Member of the Year Award". His skill and competitive spirit were on display when he won the longest drive contest at the Steve Harvey Invitational Golf Classic; he was also a World Series of Poker Event Winner. He was not just a man of success, but a man of value who contributed to society.
Above all, Wayne will be remembered for the lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and unique ability to bring people together. He made a difference in many people's lives, and because of that, his spirit will continue to live on within all those who were blessed to know him.
