Personal note from Melissa, Waylon's Wife

Waylon,
We love you and miss you much. This was completely unexpected. I always thought you would be here and the life we have kept putting off would begin, again, soon. I know it wasn't an easy life, but at least we had love and each other. I hope you know how tremendous my love for you is and when I told you, you felt it and knew I meant it. I remember telling you that I never wanted a day in this world without you in it, but unfortunately... that is my reality and the world is a very different place without you. I was, very much, looking forward to your homecoming. I know you didn't mean to leave so soon, but it is not in our control. I know you had faith and accepted Jesus as your savior, you believed that he died for your sins. I have comfort in that and in knowing that one day we will be together again... there will be nothing but peace, love, and no pain, no struggle. I have so much I want to say, but I'm lacking the words... the pain is great.
Just days before the last time I saw you, I remember having the overwhelming urge to hug you tight and cry, I told you I had a felt like I was losing or going to lose you. Unfortunately, I wasn't wrong and I am glad for all of the years we shared together. I am especially glad for those last 4-5 months, even if it wasn't a typical or good situation.
I miss everything about you, especially how beautiful you'd make me feel, how you would hug me and reassure me that I'd never lose you. I suppose you are right, however, you are just with me in spirit. now.
I love you and thank God for bringing you into my life. Thank you for being my husband, best friend, and companion. I will do my best with our girl... with help, I will remind her of your love and adoration for her. She is supported with so many who love her and they will help us through.

Love your wifey,
Melissa
