Warren Pete Chatmon, IV was born on December 15, 1941 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Warren Pete Chatmon, III and LaVerne Guice Chatmon. Warren was the first of their two children and was affectionately called "Buddy" by family members. His classmates and friends called him Pete.
Warren was educated in the Birmingham, AL school system and attended Washington Elementary School where he made lifelong friends.
