To Andrea (the love of Walter's life), to his son Tyler, Mama "D", Stacy, Grandma (Ms. Waters) and remaining family and friends, it has certainly been some journey over the past year as we have held on to God's (unchanging) hand. Lord knows we have been praying, I don't know if it's possible to wear out your kneecaps, I like to think that I tried, but I'm still walking. And God is still listening. He is going to take care of us, He is going to mend our hearts, sooth our minds, fill in the gaps from losing such an amazing human being.
I would like to encourage you during this time of grief and pray that God will keep you (and I) under his wings. I have lived long enough and have been privileged to experience the "peace that surpasses all understanding", it is (of course), rather difficult to explain, but I pray he will give it to you and continue to prop you up wherever you need support.
A lot of Christians would love to have that thing that Walter had. You've heard it in his songs; you've seen it in his spirit; seen the holy spirit move through him; seen other folks catch some of that spirit. Walt could straight "wring that thing out!"; the way he spoke, the way he listened, his patience, that wise beyond his age thing, that youth and exuberance thing that most grown folks have long passed... you've seen it!
So, God has called Walter home, but he leaves us with such a memory. His (Walter's) legacy will continue to inspire us as we work on in the vineyards and God is still listening.
May God continue to bless you and keep you.

I had the privilege of working with Walt as both a client and a friend for many years. He was a genuinely good soul, defined by integrity, professionalism, and a strong work ethic. Always present and a pleasure to be around, Walt truly made the world a better place. His presence will be deeply missed, and his legacy will endure in the lives he touched.

Walter was a kind, gentle and caring individual who was always up to help coworkers learn. He was one of the first people I met from his department and became a trusted friend. The world lost a truly great individual. My heart goes out to you and your family. In time the sweet reunion on the other side of the veil will be a joy beyond measure. Until then we will celebrate the great memories he gave us.

Walter's smile lit up a room. Our paths didn't cross often, but he always made me feel like an old friend, someone he'd known for years. Such a wonderful soul! Sending my deepest condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Walter.

Walter was one of the first welcoming faces when I traveled to Herndon VA to meet the Booz Allen team. He was so kind and considerate, helpful and welcoming and that never changed in over 17 years. He never missed an opportunity to help or teach any in need ... He is missed !
