To my beautiful friend Veronica…. 

Finding it hard to believe you have gone. You were bold, wise and beautiful in life. You had so much more to give and you loved life and your beautiful family so very much. Everything you fought for in life you achieved with ease and dignity. I really thought this fight would be the same. You helped others face their challenges too with your wisdom and fantastic advice.  You stepped up to the breach when I lost my Mum at 27 and were my go to person for support, parenting advice and everything.  You were wise beyond your years when we met in my mid 20’s when you became my line manager at Portsmouth Day Service. You were the best Manager I have ever had and you helped shape the person I have become.  Our friendship grew and you became a sister to me and God-Mother to my children. I saw your beautiful children grow into amazing adults and start lives  of their own. They are so richly blessed to have had you as a Mother, you have given them such a wonderful life and encouraged their success. It breaks my heart that your beautiful grandchildren won’t continue to have you in their lives and also feel this benefit. I know you so wanted to be around to enjoy this next chapter of your life. You were a devoted Mother, Grandmother and God-Mother your love of children shone so brightly and you were so excellent at making beautiful memories with them. Memories that will be cherished forever.

My thoughts and gratitude are also with your devoted husband Darryl, who brought happiness, love and security to you and the kids, helping to make your lives fulfilled and happy.  

This loss is a grave one for so many. Veronica you touched so many peoples lives in such a positive way.  Thank you for all the wonderful memories you have given me and my family. We are certainly much richer for having had you in our lives. Your memory will forever shine bright my friend, my sister, love you always, until we meet again xx
