Tom's obituary

Tom Tso lived with strength, leadership and love in his life and throughout his 8 years with Parkinson's disease until his passing on December 24, 2019. Tom was born in Kowloon, Hong Kong on July 9, 1949. He then moved to the United States in 1969 where he studied Engineering at South Dakota State University. He continued his education getting his masters degree at Colorado State University and eventually obtained his Master of Divinity degree in 2008 from New Orleans Baptist seminary. He was married in 1981 in Seattle before living in Calgary where he had his first son, Justin Edward Tso. In 1984 he was transferred to Singapore for his job at a Canadian Engineering Consulting firm to start an Asian subsidiary, where he had his first daughter, Tammy-Jayne Cadence Tso. In 1986 when his assignment in Singapore came to an end, he joined a new subsidiary in Atlanta where his last two children, Leighton Stephen Tso and Anna-Jayne Jocelyn Tso, were born. Tom served as the chairman of deacons in the North Atlanta Chinese Baptist church then later in 2009 became their head pastor. He stepped down in 2011 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. In 2012 he returned to Hong Kong to spend time with his mother before returning to Atlanta in 2016. He spent his retirement translating and writing.
