Timothy's obituary
Son of Joseph & Vivienne Murphy. Kind and loving spouse to his wife Bertha. Wonderful father to his daughter Heather (Kevin) & son Tyler (Corinne). He was a very proud grandpa to Charles and a wee baby girl on the way. Brother to Cheryl (Martin), Terry (Shirley) & Pat (Don) and uncle to his many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Tim graduated from the University of Toronto with a teaching degree and went on to have a teaching career of over 35 years. He loved working with children and the many staff and colleagues he so happily called his friends. Tim was the enthusiastic coach of many sports teams and volunteered his time selflessly during his career in education.
In his spare time, he loved being surrounded by his family and friends and could always be found laughing, singing and enjoying good food and libations! He was one of the friendliest people you’d ever met and would always do what he could to help others.
He always smiled, even at strangers, and took the time to learn someone’s name and introduce himself (and whoever was with him), just to make others feel included and loved. He will be so very missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, but in the meantime, please celebrate Tim’s life and offer a mass in his memory if you regularly attend church. The family ask that any donations made in Tim’s honour go towards The Knights of Columbus at St. Martin’s Roman Catholic Church or are donated to St. Martin Catholic Elementary School where Tim taught until his retirement in Ennismore, Ontario, Canada.
