Thomas's obituary

Longtime resident of Dublin, Ca, Thomas A. Rogers passed away peacefully on April 6, 2021. Born in Oakland in 1941 to August and Ann Rogers. Tom enlisted in the Army in 1959 and served in Germany as Quartermaster providing supply and field services support. While there he spent free time visiting towns and mountainous villages of surrounding areas taking in the sights alongside dear friend Friederike Graggo. Back home he began a 45 year career in the airline industry with Saturn Airlines (with stints in Nigeria, Ethiopia, Egypt & Philippines), followed by Trans World, and then United (31yrs.) until his retirement in 2019. His friends and coworkers knew him as friendly yet occasionally onerous, contrary to his sensitivity and generous spirit, with a big heart and a soft spot for helping friends and family. He loved animals, especially cats, enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hunting with best friend Ronnie Berdak (deceased). He loved jazz, pop and classical music, and spent countless hours building things and doing home improvement projects.
Dear brother, you are missed by your many friends, neighbors and family members. Tom is survived by siblings: Wayne of Sonora, Sam (Mary) also of Sonora, Chris of Calistoga and Diane of San Leandro. Cousins: Sylvia Gerloff, Jeanette (George) Machado, David DeCruz, Lorraine DaVigo, Sr. Elizabeth Rogers, as well as 5 nephews: John, Eric, Brian; John, Sam and 2 nieces: Carrie, Sharon. (Tom is predeceased by his ex-wife Louise).
A remembrance is planned post-Covid restrictions and tentatively scheduled mid-August 2021. More information will be available at a later date.
