Hey Tom...I thought about you a lot today and it broke me. I keep trying to push it down and not think of it but today I couldn't. I wish I had reached out and resolved our differences before this happened. A petty disagreement has into a terrible life lesson for me. It tears me up thinking about you dying in a hospital bed and not wanting to call me because you thought I wouldn't take the call. ....I never got to say goodbye and I can't tell you how much that hurts.

My heart continues to hurt when Tommy comes to mind. I will forever remember 40 years of friendship. He was like a brother to me. So many fun memories we shared together over the years, especially the last few years. His heart was bigger than life and was an amazing friend. I miss him all the time. We will meet again some day Tommy. I can't wait to hug you and tell you how much you've been missed.

Tommy was a good dude. He took on momentous challenges despite the chaos that swirled in the background. His mindset to achieve personal life goals despite little to nil support from his immediate family was admirable. Unfortunately Tommy was unable to filter life's negative but constant static. He felt it was unmanly to talk about things that troubled him and unhealthily kept it close and bottled up inside. A cop with emotional trama is seen as a liability and not someone who needs help. The murder of a well liked Millbrae motorcycle patrol cop was a milestone marker that troubled Tommy for years. It is doubtful he ever fully made peace with that unfortunate event. It was too early for you to go Tommy. You found someone that cared about you and not status or material possessions. You are now free from the troubled winds of a chaotic and unfeeling world that you served with your heart . I dearly hope you have finally found an infinite of calm and an eon of serenity. You deserve it buddy. I am so sorry I wasn't there when you probably could have used a friend.

Tommy and I have been best friends since we met in 1986. SO MANY fun memories! Riding in the white Challenger racing other cars, times chillin at the beach relaxing and hanging out and our talks we used to have.
I miss you Tommy! You are forever in my heart and in my prayers! You were a trooper and a champ in my eyes. Such a strong soul that has endured so much. Heaven gained another angel to say the least. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you Tommy. My heart still cries when I'm brought back to reality that you are not with us physically. Since Thomas' passing in early April 2022, a powerful book called Relentless Courage Winning the Battle Against Frontline Trauma by Michael Sugrue and Shauna "Doc" Springer, PH.D. was published and is currently being sold on Amazon.
The family and I would like to encourage all First Responders, their family, and their friends to read this life-changing story. Actually, everyone would benefit from reading this book in order to get insights into the tolls and sacrifices our Police Officers and first responders give during their careers to protect and defend, and the tolls it takes on their lives both mentally and physically.
We only wish this book was available a year ago and feel it would've helped Tom overcome society's stigma of "appearing weak" for asking for help for the traumas and PTSI (Post Traumatic Stress Injury) he endured in his life both personally and professionally.
We would like to dedicate this book to Thomas Paul Lynn's memory. May He Rest in Eternal Love and Peace.

Only wish we had more time together.
