Thomas's obituary

Thomas Paul Lynn, Jr., 54, of Morgan Hill, California passed away peacefully, in the hospital, from a terminal illness and received his heavenly coronation on April 10, 2022 (Palm Sunday), with family and loved ones by his side. Tom was predeceased by his father, Thomas Lynn, Sr. (Easter 2019), and mother, Mary Lynn (Christmas 2020).

Thomas Paul Lynn, Jr. was born on September 26, 1967, to Thomas, Sr. & Mary Lynn in San Francisco, California.  At the age of 8, the family moved to South San Francisco, where Tommy attended school.  After graduating from El Camino High School, South San Francisco, California in 1985, he went on to receive his A.A. in General Studies at the College of San Mateo, while maintaining employment and gaining valuable work experience.

At a very young age, Tom knew that he was destined to become a Police Officer.  After graduating with an A.A. degree, Tom put himself through the Police Academy at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose, CA.  Tom became a community officer with the San Carlos Police Department, which began his 24-year career in Law Enforcement.  On September 1, 1995,  he joined the Millbrae Police Department.   Tom served the City of Millbrae as a Police Corporal until 2007.  During the course of his career, he was a D.A.R.E. Instructor, and a Field Training Officer and was recognized for his performance excellence and contributions to the success of the communities he served.  In 2007, he went on to serve the city of Brisbane as a Police Sergeant.  In 2010, Tom and his fellow officers were first responders and assisted the San Bruno Police, Fire, and Paramedics in responding to the citizens of San Bruno after the explosion and devastating fires.  In late 2017, after 24-years of a rewarding Law Enforcement career, Tom retired from the Brisbane Police Department to care for his ailing parents.

In retirement, Tom was blessed to meet an amazing woman, Janice. Tom & Janice were blessed to love and be loved by each other. They endured the challenges of the pandemic and Tom's health concerns, but through it, all, enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, love, and their faith in God.  They were planning their forever life together and a 2022 wedding when Tom's health declined.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Ava; fiancée, Janice, and her daughter, Cheyenne.

He will be greatly missed by many family & friends. Aunt Lorrie & Richard, Aunt Yvette, Rick & Luvina & family, Aunt Rosie & Rick Caroline, Michael, Lisa, Terry, & family, Buffy Don & family, Artie & Family, Aunt Judy, Valerie, Vickie & Les, Uncle Danny & Pat, Donald & family, Patty, Ken & family, Michelle & family, Danny, Jackie & family, Karen, Tim & family, Brother and Sister-In-Law, Kalon & Lisa, Niece & Nephews Ashleigh & Sean & Brandon, Bill, Connie & family, Bob, Linda & family, Joyce & family, Joe, Shirley & family, Donna & family, and many cherished friends including longtime friends, Sylvia, Rob, and Derek, who were faithful friends until the end. Tom was an honorable and respectable man of character and always put others above himself, even during the most challenging times of his life.  He truly lived out this Bible scripture until the end:

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."    2 Timothy 4:7
