Thomas and his twin sister Mary came into our lives at 8 months old as foster children and were adopted less than a year later. Thomas grew up in the Auburn/Federal Way area and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He was an active member of the Federal Way United Methodist Church where he participated in youth group, youth retreats, mission trips and the high school praise band.
Thomas was a music lover from a very young age and worked very hard to become a talented musician and actor. He came alive onstage and that’s where he felt most at home. He performed in the TJHS Chamber choir, TJHS Jazz Choir, TJHS Musical Theater, Bellevue Community College Jazz Choir and the Federal Way Chorale. As a child, he honed his craft with Rosebud Children’s Theatre Conservatory. Post high school, he performed with Ballyhoo Theatre in Edmonds and, most recently, as Riff Raff in Rocky Horror at Burien Actor’s Theatre. which was shut down March 2020 due to COVID. His last performance was at the TJHS Alumni Showcase on November 13, 2021.
Thomas was an extraordinary tenor with a unique and beautiful voice that created an incredible presence on stage. It was his passion. Life wasn’t always easy for Thomas and he worked hard to overcome many obstacles. We are comforted and blessed to hear about the tremendous impact he had on his friends and his musical and theater communities.
We love you Thomas and will hear you sing in our hearts forever.
