Tom was born on October 22, 1940, at home in Newark, NJ. He graduated from St. Benedict’s Preparatory School and went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps before marrying his wife, Mary Dockery, on his birthday in 1966.

The longtime Toms River resident was hardworking, dedicating nearly 50 years to the Steamfitters Union Local 475. Tom was extremely active in his community serving as a member of the American Legion Riders Post 129, recognized as “Irish Man of the Year” by the Ancient Order of Hibernians Ocean 1, and Past Grand Knight at the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph Council #4969. Following the passing of his wife, he moved to Laguna Hills California. During his free time, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, traveling and riding his motorcycle.

Surviving is his partner, Fran Lowery of Laguna Hills, CA; his son, Thomas Dockery Jr. of Texas; his daughter, Mary Kate Dockery of Toms River; his sister and brother in law, Marirose Fernandez and Joe Fernandez of Imperial Beach, CA; his grandchildren Kaitlyn Shive and Kacie Dockery; and his great grandson.
