Thomas Eugene “Tom” Cummings, 76, of Franklin, PA passed away unexpectedly on 01/07/2024 in The Villages, FL.
Tom was born in Franklin to Ruth Christina Rial and Albert Bruce Cummings on April 2nd, 1947. He attended Franklin Area High School and graduated in 1965. Tom went on to serve in the US Army as a Coreman/Medical Records Specialist in 1966 where he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal and a National Defense Service Medal. Honorably discharged in 1972, Tom pursued a Paramedical career. He received his certification at Clarion College and worked for Community Ambulance of Venango County. As a master of many skills and a man passionate about hard work, Tom worked in electronics assembly at Matrix; Industrial dryer assembly at Conair; Painting, bodywork and powder coating at Cozy Cruzin; and specialized in custom sunroofs and visors at his own business TC Customs. He was also licensed in PA State Inspections.
He honored his longtime passion for Vans by upholding the position of President for his Vannin’ Club, The Vans of Time. Tom volunteered his time to the AIDs Support Group, and was a volunteer CPR instructor for the American Heart Association as well as doing Advanced Life Support training and Paramedic training.
Tom will be forever remembered by lifelong partner, Kristina Cummings; His beloved Pugs Ziggy & Pepper Cummings; His children, Heather Romanelli and husband John; Marissa Cutaia and husband Anthony; Bria Idler and husband Nick; Brit Ruditis and husband Tyler; Jonathan Cummings and fiance Brittany; Krista Marcum and husband Curtis; Daniel Cummings. His grandchildren Garrett, Micah, and Haylee Romanelli; Zoe, Fiona, and Nikolai Idler; Rhea Lee Cummings-Ruditis; Merida Marcum. His Great granddaughter Charlotte Romanelli. Other adored Family, Michael Young Sr. and partner Carol; Michael Young Jr. and wife Leighanne; Ricki Young and fiance Jesse; Alexis McKenzie and husband Tyler; Aryez Brickner, her fiance Josh, and their son Myles; Ajah Brickner; Zachary Brickner and his son Kai; Zoey Brickner; Andrew Young; Alexandria Young. His cousins Trish Warden; Bob and Tammy Rial; Linda Rial. Dear family friend, Karen Grill.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ruth and Bruce Cummings; His sister Barbara Dockerty; Niece Teresa; Mother-in-law Margaret “Peggy” Young; and his best friend…Pug Harley Cummings.
Everyone who was lucky enough to know Tom loved him and could describe his passion for helping others, his gentle yet stubborn nature, and his deep love of life.
A military memorial service will be held at Bushnell National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL on February 9th, 2024 at 14:30.
Cremation and arrangements were entrusted to Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory,
