Thinking of Tom and how important he was to me and my family. Uncle Tom to my kids as they were growing up. I first met Tom in 1971 and shared so many adventures and roadtrips over the years. His life and legacy is still having an impact in this world!
Every time I think of Tom I just smile. 😊 And my heart is purer just by knowing him

I first met Tom around 1986 when I had just left Castle hospital 30-day drug treatment. I had gone through a divorce and was depressed and met someone who introduced me to smoking crack. I immediately spent the next several months devoting my time and every resource to that stupidity. Until I had nothing left. I made it back to Hawaii with help from my family. I got treatment... But most importantly I got a sponsor. His name was Tom catton. He had room for one more person. Seemed like he always had room for one more person. He mentored me but most importantly he exampled to me. His example of living and loving life. His example of selflessness.  His example of loving people. I have been successful in not going back once to the stupid life. I'm so glad I contacted him several years ago to tell him, Thank you. To tell him how I'm doing.  To let him know I'm on the right path. I'm 63 now. My stupid choices are fewer and far between. And certainly never doing the stupidity that took me down. My father-in-law is in the final throes of dementia. It's so painful to see his wife and my wife having to deal with it. My heart goes out to his family who he's left behind. At least i can rest assured that Tom is with his maker. Namaste Tom.
