His remarkable tenure of nearly 51 years in recovery in Narcotics Anonymous was an inspiration for many. He worked with hundreds seeking a life of recovery from addiction. He was amazed as he found himself running 2 large businesses, Tom Catton Painting and Teak Bali. Through these ventures, Tom provided employment to ex-convicts and the homeless, and those in transition. This was a demonstration of his unmatched compassion and belief in second chances.
It would be amiss if we didn't mention some of his life passions. Tom was a surfer, a seeker and global traveler. He also accomplished impressive feats to celebrate milestones. An endurance athlete, Tom ran 50 miles on his 50th birthday, biked 60 miles to commemorate his 60th birthday, and then even 70 miles for his 70th. He led meditation meetings, retreats and loved working with the men he sponsored in N.A. After many years on Oahu, Tom and Bea settled in Paradise Park where he and they focused countless hours on beautifying the land where they settled and called it "Namaste Estates".

His dedication to his family was evident in the importance emphasized on joyous gatherings, grand gestures and time spent with his children and grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous pride and bliss. He valued his spiritual practice, through which his inspiring messages will forever echo in the lives he touched.
