Teresa was a wonderful teacher who cared deeply about all her students. I always looked forward to working in her classroom because I knew that her lesson plans would be amazing and the students respectful. Although we went to high school together, it wasn't until I started working with her at Daves Elementary that we became co-workers and friends. I will miss her wonderful sense of humor and our great conversations. My heart goes out to her family and friends, Teresa will be greatly missed <3
I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Teresa. When I first interviewed her, the commitment to do the best for her students was clearly evident. She put her whole heart into the work she did for her students. Her creativity and hard work paid off as those students traveled through and beyond the Daves community. I know she was proud of every one of her students and proud to be a member of great teaching teams.
When I was on team 5th grade with Teresa, there was never a dull moment! We always speak of the “lifelong learner” in education, and she was that. A seeker who was always striving to grow as a human and professional. She was passionate about social justice in education, history, and the mental health of her students, for whom she cared deeply. I will miss her, and send my deepest sympathy to her family. She talked about you all with such adoration.
Teresa was one of the most passionate, dedicated and creative educators I've ever known. And she was the MOST generous soul - always giving to myself and others. Job sharing with her was one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career. Teresa was a true friend; vulnerable and caring with me. I will miss her greatly.
