Ted's obituary
Ted Elliott Lepper, 64, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025. He was born in Carmel, California to the late Barbara Lepper and Lewis Lepper. Ted would have celebrated his 65th birthday on December 9th.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara and Lew Lepper, and his brother, Lewis Lepper.
Ted is survived by his sister, Marian Lepper Boyette (Bill); his brother, George Lepper; his niece and nephews, Will and Anna Boyette, Margaret Schultz (Kyle) and George Lepper Jr; Ted is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Noel and Phil Harris; his cousins, Barbara Harris Bond (the late Mark Bond), Phillip Harris (Susie), William Harris (Gigi), and Sam Harris (Jeanine). He is also survived by many extended family members, friends, and former student athletes who loved him dearly.
Ted was a man of deep faith who loved the Lord and served faithfully as an elder at his church, Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. He could often be found with his Bible open, taking notes during each service. His gentle spirit, humility, and kindness reflected his walk with God, and he touched countless lives through both his words and his actions.
He attended and was a lifelong supporter of Fayetteville Academy. Ted made a lasting mark on the community through his years of coaching tennis. His influence reached far beyond wins and losses—he helped shaped his athletes into better people. Ted also previously worked as a flight attendant for Piedmont Airlines and enjoyed working at Enterprise as well, where he made many friends.
Ted’s athletic talent was remarkable from a young age. He was an avid soccer and tennis player at Fayetteville Academy, finished his tennis career at Terry Sanford High School, and received a full tennis scholarship to East Carolina University. Even so, Ted remained humble, always cheering others on and celebrating their achievements.
Those who knew Ted remember his gentle soul, his kindness, and his genuine care for others. Friends describe him as a gentleman, a steady encourager, and someone who made everyone feel at ease. He loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them.
A service to celebrate Ted’s life will be held on Thursday, October 23rd at 3:00pm at Presbyterian Church Of The Covenant, 118 W. Manchester Road, Spring Lake, NC 28390 followed by the burial at his church’s cemetery.
Ted touched the hearts of many and will be greatly missed. He will be forever loved and remembered by all who knew him. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing he is now at peace, reunited with his parents in heaven, and held in the arms of his Savior.
