I was really shocked to learn of Sue's recent passing. She's been my friend and neighbor for at least 15 or more years. We've both lived at Breakwater Village in Redondo Beach and I spoke to her less than a month ago as she was on her way to the small gym located in the condo complex. She exercised there regularly and I always envied her efforts to stay healthy.   But I knew Sue for several years before we became neighbors. We were both members of the American Society of Training and Development, interested in the growth of employee training.  She was always willing to share her expertise and help other members and the organizations they worked for. I found her to be consistently friendly, congenial and helpful. Having seen her so recently, I can't believe she's gone. My condolences to her family, other friends, and the many people that were touched by her kindness, knowledge and willingness to make our world a better place. I'll miss her.
Tony, I was saddened to hear about the loss of your Mom.  My deepest condolences to you.  I knew your mom way before ISPI SoCal and thought her ideas and methods would be helpful for any organization that wants to create deeper engagement in its workforce.  Sue had some very good approaches for this.  I'm glad she shared so much with you.  Best wishes, Irwin

We are really sad to hear the bad news..

When we first moved to this country more than 10 years ago, Grandma Sue’s warmth, kindness, and acceptance made our journey much brighter. Over the past years, she became more than a friend; she was family. Her ability to embrace and respect our cultural differences spoke volumes, and her spirit will be deeply missed. We are grateful for the love and laughter she brought into our lives.

With heartfelt condolences,

Sarah and Jim

Sincerest condolences to Sue’s family and friends. I got to know her through the RoundTable and from that experience over the years I know that she leaves a real legacy that reached around the globe. She exemplified the power of ideas and of equitable sharing of those ideas. I was always intrigued by her perspective on just about anything. Sue left her mark and we are better for it.

Dear Tony, Sylvie, Max my deepest condolences to you on the loss of your lovely, kindhearted, mother and grandmother. She was my instructor, encourager, and mentor. Her passion for RoundTable and education inspired me and continues to be a source of joy. She introduced me to Systems Thinking and opened my world. Ever excited to share her enthusiasm with whoever showed interest. ❤️

Sue, your intelligence and values live on in GEMS RoundTable.

In your memory, a quote from 3000 Years of Longing… “We exist only if we are real to others.” You were and are real. Sweet peace.

Love,

Laura

Sue Gabriele is an angel in heaven, and we will miss her presence and 7:00am Systems Thinking session at IW2024. at IW 2024 🙏 May God bless.
My Mom, Susan Farr Gabriele, was not only my Mom, but my intellectual, moral, and spiritual mentor. I grew up with her introducing me to quotes coming from the likes of Einstein, Gandhi and Martin Luther King. She was a feminist and a humanist, that believed in treating everyone with respect, and equality.  She was a true nurturer, who believed in the beauty of the human spirit.  Following her around the globe and at home I met interesting people I admired so much from as many walks of life as there could be. I grew up with her teaching me empathy as a way of being. So, when it rained the outside dog became the wet dog sleeping on my bed. And Mom adored it. When that dog, Sasha, had puppies she brought my Mom to see, Mother to Mother, so proudly. You inspired me, Mom, introducing me to the best inspirational movies, books, and ideas. I miss you so much, like I have never missed anyone before. Her book was an unrecognized treasure, surprising me with truths that surprised me, even though I'm her son.  In fact, her whole take on life was uniquely tolerant and full of kindness for all living things.  Losing her is beyond words.  I am truly heartbroken.

I am Sue's son, Tony.  It is really so hard to describe what I am feeling, because I have never ever felt so absolutely horrible in my whole life.  My Mom was a person of pure sincerity, with a sensitivity and caring for others, that was so unique.  I love her so much I am completely devastated.  Every day I cry over and over again until I wear myself out.  I just feel a complete void.  I am so lost.
❤️RIP Sue....
