I am so deeply saddened to learn of one of my dearest friends and confidant’s passing. We met during our time at Venture Communications - he worked within the Calgary office and I worked within the Toronto office. We not only formed a great working relationship but also a wonderful friendship throughout the years. I had the pleasure to meet him in-person during a work-related event in Calgary and will forever remember his infectious smile and laughter. Such a kind-hearted soul and always willing to help a friend in any way possible. He loved his family so very much and always spoke about them in such incredible light. I will forever miss you my dear friend. We shared great conversations and I won’t forget any of them. As I was writing this it was raining, and just now the sun ☀️ shone through the clouds. You are forever in my thoughts my dear friend.

I met Stevie in 2003 in a startup we were part of. We travelled all of NA for it, the stories and laughs were endless. Eventually, we started our own company. The greatest reward of all, we became best of friends in the adventure. I hope your journey from here is one of even more adventure! I miss you my friend.

I'll never forget meeting Stephen at Karo Design in Calgary, 2011. Instantly, our senses of humor and musical tastes aligned. His infectious laughter lit up any room he entered, and his team building abilities were legendary. I greatly admired his drumming prowess and unwavering passion. When I had the chance to work with him again at Venture Communications, it was like old times, and we always found joy in poking fun at the absurdities of the advertising world. Stephen was an exceptional human being, and his absence will be felt deeply. I'm grateful to have known such a wonderful family man and adman, and I'll cherish this photo I took of him always.

I also admired Stephen for his kindness and generosity. He once offered me the opportunity to work with him at his new venture, Bank Advertising, but unfortunately, that was the year I had decided to move back to Vancouver. I deeply regret not being able to take him up on his offer. Nevertheless, the impact he had on my life and those around him will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Stephen. I'll see you again one day, and I look forward to hearing your infectious laughter and heartfelt sense of humour once more. To all of Stephen's family, I wish you love and support during this heart-wrenching time.
