Would you like to hear something incredibly amazing? I saw Steve in Heaven! I really did! It was another day in an unending series of bad days. I was lying prone on the tile floor sobbing and begging Jesus to please "lift me up." "Please take me or save me." That very night I had a dream so real it is etched in my mind forever. I dreamed that I was in Heaven with Steve. He picked me up and twirled me around much like you would when you meet someone at the airport you haven't seen in years. I knew I was in Heaven because I was beautiful, BUT Steve was perfect!! He had been made perfect in Heaven (I still have yet to earn my way to Heaven and perfection, but I'll get there). This was truly a direct blessing given to me. It was so incredible and it was complete affirmation that Heaven is real and our loved ones reside there and everyone is forgiven, perfected, and in perpetual joy! I thank God every single day for granting us His gifts of eternal life, love, and forgiveness (through His son, Jesus).

This tattoo is dedicated to Steve. It includes his signature, lifetime dates, his original tagline for me, candy hearts for his birth month of February, and an infinity heart.

This tattoo is in honor of Steve's divine birthstone, Amethyst. The tattoo has been infused with some of Steve's ashes! I am SO proud and happy knowing that Steve is literally a part of me and will remain with me until I meet him again in Heaven!

My incredible Sister-In-Law, Pat, made this gorgeous quilt using 20 of Steve's "sarcasm" tee shirts!

I'd like to rephrase this question by saying, What did Steve teach you? since I'm still working on the "learned" part. Steve taught me that it is always much better to Listen than to speak since listening promotes wisdom. Steve taught me that if the results of the test are predetermined, then the test itself is immaterial. Steve taught me how to throw a basketball the right way. Steve taught me how to wrap the exterior extension cords by twisting both ends around the folded cord so it becomes a loop and voila! A hanger. Steve taught me how to stand with my head high and declare, "My name is Dennett!" Steve taught me to give everyone the benefit of the doubt (at first).

Although I feel like it is so cliched to say the most fun I had was in Aruba in 2006, when I recall other things we did then yes, we had the best time during our stay in Aruba. We had dinner during sunset over the ocean. We visited a butterfly farm where the butterflies flit all around you, land on you, feed from your hand. You have never seen a moth until you have seen an Atlas Moth--literally the size of a dinner plate, absolutely magnificent. We rented a small car and toured the entire island. Steve tried to teach me how to drive a manual shift vehicle--like the island, parking lots are about 3 cars in length. Needless to say, I still drive an automatic (but it was amusing). There's a Hooters*! Steve often used to say, "You never really get lost. You can always find the Hooters*." We discovered a "downtown" area like that of urban NYC, only it's about a block long. All the "suburban" houses are painted like Candy Land! Seriously--neon pink with orange shutters/lime green front door is very ordinary. We went on a glass bottom boat to see a reef--imagine yourself in the aquarium looking out! That's what it was like. We had lunch on a large, breezy patio (restaurant) and we dined with iguanas! The males kill themselves in a proud and gorgeous display but the females are only interested in eating the lettuce. Hysterical! There are parakeets more plentiful than pigeons! But the hands-down best night was the one we decided to walk the path where all the major hotels/restaurants align along the waterfront. We opted for spontaneity so we stopped at what appeared to be an outdoor bar and grill. It turns out that they seat you On The Beach. They set up a table equipped with linens, wine glasses, china, silver...We dined on a formal (delectable) meal alone on the white sand in bare feet under a star-filled sky alongside a serene, tropical ocean. We're not done. In the near distance a sailor was cruising on his private boat and he performed a fireworks display, I assume, for late night beach visitors. The entire night was truly from a fairy tale, like, they only do this in the movies. I knew right then that this would never happen again but it was so wonderful, once was blissfully sufficient.

Getting ready to say Goodbye. It took everything I had not to sob uncontrollably the entire time I was with Steve during the final phase. He would not have liked that so I smiled with all my heart with my love for him. Happy Perfection in Heaven, Steve!

Happy Birthday to Steve at an 'unreserved' restaurant. I don't know if y'all can read his hat, but the waiter would write something indiscriminate and only the person opposite you could see it!

Happy Father's Day, Steve. You did not father my children but you embraced them the same as you did for your girls. You will be missed beyond expression. I Love You. I Miss You. The kids do, too. I found a quote, "Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy."--Eskimo Proverb

This Is Love. Steve took me to see a band of my choice. The fans do face-painting. Steve wasn't excited, but he loved that I dared to be "different."
