Stef was born to Bogdan and Anka Stefanovic on November 8, 1954 in Serbia. As a child, she was raised by her grandparents and emigrated to the United States in 1968.

Stef met her husband, John Ellis in 1971 at a Thanksgiving dinner in Holyoke, MA. They married on July 6, 1974 and went on to have three children, Heather, Tomania, …
