Stef's obituary
Stef was born to Bogdan and Anka Stefanovic on November 8, 1954 in Serbia. As a child, she was raised by her grandparents and emigrated to the United States in 1968.
Stef met her husband, John Ellis in 1971 at a Thanksgiving dinner in Holyoke, MA. They married on July 6, 1974 and went on to have three children, Heather, Tomania, and Benjamin. Stef and John lived in Holyoke, MA; Milford, MA; Buford, GA and Cumming, GA.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother, Stef also loved to travel, help those around her in need, play tennis, knit, watch romantic movies and look at photos from her life. Stef spent many years helping Bosnian refugees become acclimated in the US. Stef found the Lord in 1983 and she held an unwavering faith in God, which she willingly shared with those who surrounded her.
Stef is survived by her husband, John Ellis; daughter Heather Warren and son-in-law Timothy of Canterbury, Ct; daughter Tomania Kelly and son-in-law Paul of Cumming, GA and son Benjamin of Cumming, GA. In addition, Stef leaves grandchildren Tyler Warren, Gabrielle Kelly, Chelsea Kelly, Meredith Kelly, Julia Kelly, Kristen Kelly and John (JP) Kelly. Also surviving her are her two brothers; Slavoljub (Ljubica) Stefanovic of Florida; Antonio (Donna) Brbovic of Massachusetts; and sister-in-law Vida Stefanovic of Serbia along with several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother Sako Stefanovic.
There will be a small family service to be held later this year. There will be no viewing of the body. Just remember Stef as the kind and loving person she was. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Family Promise of Forsyth County at www.FPForsyth.org. We praise God that she is now at home with her Lord and Saviour.
Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
