We have such fond memories of Sloan and our granddaughter, Meghan, fly fishing with granddads in Roan Mtn.  What fun they all had - Sloan and Meghan had just received Davy Crockett hats. It was evident ,even as a youngster, what a kind and caring boy Sloan was. Our hearts go out to Gary and Nancy and all the family.           Ken and Vickie Chase

I’m not even sure where to begin here. Sloan was the oldest younger brother that I could probably ever think of. His friendship taught me so much in life. Not only in standing up for what you believe in, but also to stand up for what is right. I don’t think that I’ve ever met someone as lovingly stubborn as he was. Life can be wild at times but he was always around and always had my back, no questions asked. I wouldn’t take back one minute back in the day with him. He, Miranda, and the boys, were family that I needed more than they probably even knew. Sloan, you are so loved and are going to be so missed especially so for the rest of my life. Rest easy, friend. I love you and we’ll definitely meet again.
