Born in Portland on February 21,1977, Simon was a true child of Portland. He attended Laurelhurst Elementary School, Fernwood Middle School, and graduated from Grant High School in 1995. Like many kids of his generation, he enjoyed collecting Star Wars and Nike memorabilia, shooting hoops, and riding his skateboard throughout the neighborhood with his friends. He was active in soccer and scouting, and was an AmeriCorps volunteer. After graduating from Evergreen State with a degree in multimedia, Simon was an inspiring force in the development of Portland’s hip hop scene as a founder of Momentum Studios and a promoter of emerging young talent. He worked in New York and San Francisco, where he loved guiding family and friends through his new communities and helping ex-Portlanders establish new lives. 

Simon returned to Portland and built a new life for himself as a devoted and loving father. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter, Maya. Simon loved cooking, gardening, and creating arts and crafts projects with Maya in their home and at the family home on the Sandy River. An avid collector, he was always on the quest for hidden treasures and a new enterprise. In recent years, Simon used his expertise to sell sneakers, clothing, and vintage sports memorabilia on line. 

In addition to Maya, Simon is survived by his parents, Dennis and Nancy Biasi, brother Christopher, and a close extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Grandparents RJ and Arlene Biasi and Craig and Patricia Rosenkranz preceded him in death. 

 A family foundation will be established in Simon’s name to support art and healing in Portland. Memorial events will be announced.
