So sorry to learn of Shirley’s passing through Cornell Alumni, Class of ‘79. Shirley and I were both in the College of Human Ecology and lived in the Von Cramm Co-op for 3 years. I remember Shirley for her no nonsense outlook and great sense of humor. She chronicled life at “The Cramm” with her wonderful photographs. It was great to reconnect with her and for my husband and me to meet her husband and all hang out at the Cornell 25th Reunion. Condolences to her family.

Shirley was funny, smart and adorable. I loved spending time with her in high school. All my condolences to her family and friends. She was a wonderful person who left us way too soon.

Your mother was a wonderful neighbor in our Murray Hill building. She was always friendly, curious, and delightful. We will miss her smile and energy!

Justin this is a wonderful way to honor your mother as well as to document an immigrant’s story through photos and personal history. This is a very meaningful project that has an important story to tell. Sending all of you my deepest condolence.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of beautiful Shirley. She was so wonderful to have come to the reception of an art show I was in on Jan. 27, 2024. She made that tremendous effort that I am so grateful for. I just wish I could have seen her again. May she rest easy now. God bless Shirley’s family.
Sincerely, Debra Biedrzycki Baker

My deepest condolences to Shirley's family.
I first met Shirley when I first joined The Three Village Tennis Club. Shirley was the most welcoming person, we became fast friends. We then introduced our husbands and they became great friends as well. We would often play tennis together and visit and have meals at each other's houses. We played on North Shore together and would go annually to the US Open.
Shirley and Jimmy would visit us in Florida. Shirley's favorite time to visit was March so we could go to the Miami Open together. The last time we went to the Miami Open together Shirley was recovering from her chemo and we went during the day session. While taking a rest at the Lacoste Lounge and Shirley swiped a guilded plastic crocodile for my house! It was so funny - she placed it in my entry way next to a wood Hippo we bought in South Africa. It sits there still!
