My deepest condolences. It is with fond memories that I recall Shirley absolutely schooling me on the badminton court. Always kind and graceful, she will be dearly missed.

I had the esteemed pleasure to care for Shirley and Tony’s children at Horizons. Even though I did not know Shirley well, I knew her through her children and I know they will keep her loving, caring, funny spirit alive. My deepest condolences to Tony, Karley, Kaitlyn, Tyler, and the rest of the family.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I am really sorry for your loss my friend. Our prayers are with you and your family. Please let me know if I can be any help.

Tony,

I was a grad student in the Chemistry Dept where you worked before. I got to talk to you and your wife a few years ago at a friend's party. I am really sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family.

Shirley and I worked together at Vet Med, and bonded over our efforts to balance work with three kiddos at home. She was always kind, funny and upbeat. I am so sorry for your loss.

This is devastating, my deepest condolences to each and everyone of you. Your family has always had a special place in my heart. I will miss you dearly Shirley.
Shirley, the best smile and sarcasm that could easily lift your spirits if you were having a rough day. I had the pleasure of taking care of Kaitlyn and Tyler at Hutchison and always loved my chats with both Shirley and Tony as I always left a conversation with a smile on my face after talking with them. Sending my thoughts and love to all of Shirleys friends, family and loved ones. You will be deeply missed.
"I thought of you and Ana today and just wanted to say hi and see how you were guys were all doing. " That was Shirley sending me an email years after we had moved from Davis to Connecticut. That's how she was, checking on me, my wife, and my kids from time to time. A beautiful person that was always thinking of others. Taking about her time in Dr. Yilma's lab, she once wrote to me: "It was my first real job on campus and many years of great friendships." Indeed great times! In fact Shirley still lives in my lab in CT, as I still use many of the safety protocols she developed back in Davis. Members of Yilma's lab may remember her "Dishwashing is Fun" flyer (which I still use in my lab). She always tried to make everything fun! That's how we will always remember her! My thoughts and love to Tony and their 3 beautiful kids.
Shirley was such an incredibly kind person, and I am so deeply sad over her passing. I remember meeting her when we first joined the baby room at Hutchison, how immediately friendly she was, and how comfortable and happy I always felt being around her. She was so easy to speak to and so thoughtful and funny. I will forever cherish and appreciate the many amazing pictures she took of Isla and Cameron - swim lessons, birthday parties, farmer's markets, and more. I have always admired Shirley as a mother and as a wonderful, caring person. I will miss Shirley greatly and I wish Tony, Karley, Kaitlyn, Tyler, and all Shirley's family much love and comfort. Shirley made the world a better place for so many people and I feel very lucky to have had her as a friend.
