Ms. Shirley Corner, 84, of Newaygo, MI, passed away on September 14, 2023, after a strong battle with Cancer.

Shirley was born on April 30th. 1939 to Charles & Carmelita Corner in Ottawa County. After graduating from Catholic Central High School. She later married Dave K. Schmuker and they had her 1st child, Cherry in 1964, a few years later they had Kathy, then her son David Keith.

Shirley went on to raise her three children while working a full-time job at GM. Despite working, taking care of the house, and raising her children she found the time for family & friends. She did all she could to give her 3 kids what they needed and still found the ability to give them what they wanted when she could. Even though she had to raise her children on her own since they were very young and she did an excellent job. Her kids learned a great deal from her just by her actions.

She later in life met and married her second husband, Don Taber who also had adult children at that time. Shirley embraced them and their children with much love. Shirley would always fill her home with warmth, kindness, and food especially when family and friends visited. Mom is going to be missed deeply by many. She was survived by her daughters, Cherry Lopez, Kathy Miller, son David Keith Schmuker and Don's family.

There will be a funeral service at 11am on Friday September 22, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church located at 1200 Alpine Church Rd. NW, Comstock Park, MI 49321.

There will be an hour before mass to greet family and offer your love, support, and hugs. After mass there will be a celebration of life
