So sorry to hear of Shelley's passing, we were neighbors to the Wendt family at Mina, SD.  We attended school at the Richland School.  From all of the photos and comments it looks like she was loved by many  and she had such a passion for life.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.  She will always be with you all.  An old friend from the past Joyce Wilson.

Shelly was the kindest, most thoughtful person I have ever known. She was an amazing neighbor who was always asking if she could help and brightening my day with thoughtful gifts and homemade rocks. I will miss her terribly.  My thoughts and prayers are with you. She often spoke of her sons and how much she loved you!
We are sending out much love and hugs today to everyone who loves Shelley especially Thomas, Alissa & Patrick. Like all of you that had the good fortune to spend any amount of time with her, I was blessed to be the tiny moth to her bright flame! From the second I met her I felt like we'd always known each other. When we talked, it was like we had picked up a conversation that had never missed a beat. I will keep Shelley's loving spirit & gorgeous laugh in my heart. I hope I can live a life and leave an impact that she would be proud of. xoxo, steph

I volunteered twice with Shelly at St Francis Pantry and she made a great impression. She had style with her apron she had to put on and carried herself with class and grace.

I am so sad to hear Shelley has passed. She was great fun to work with and I admired her skill and integrity. She was called the body fluid queen in the lab because she always seemed to get so many on evening shift in Hematology. She taught many of us in the lab and freely shared her knowledge. She was a special person.
I've known Shelley since the mid 90's when I went to work at Providence Lab. Shelley was always sweet and nice to me. I enjoyed her company. Post Providence for both of us, we would see each other occasionally over the years and we enjoyed visiting every time. I am so sorry for the loss of a shining light in this world. May her spirit always shine.

Alissa, I am truly sorry to hear the news of your mom’s passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

I will never forget the smile of your mom I met in Anchorage.

I hope your tears will soon be eased by the wonderful memories that will be with you forever.

Condolences from Japan, Kenji Akazawa

My deepest regrets on the passing of your mom. She was a candle extinguished much too soon.  Shelley and I met working in the Providence Hospital lab in the 70s . We hiked , rode bicycles, and camped . She made the best homemade yogurt.  We traveled Europe for 9 weeks together and shared so many beautiful sites in this world . Your mom made friends everywhere. We never lacked for guides along our way.  Shelley was a wonderful friend, travel companion, explorer, walking buddy, and nature lover. She will be so very much missed.  Peace and love to all her family .

Alissa, I am deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your loved one. My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family at this difficult time. May happy memories of your mom bring you comfort at this sad time.

Remembering her wonderful and gentle soul will forever remain in our hearts. May she Rest In Peace. Amen.
Shelly’s gardening skills were the envy of the neighborhood and I’m honored she shared some hints with Beverly and I.
Most of all Shelly showed us to take care of our place to look pretty and even yield some fruit.
Rest In Peace Dear Lady
