Our thoughts are with Shannon's family and all of those who knew Shannon. Reading the condolences and looking at all of the shared photo's and videos I can tell he touched a lot of lives. After high school I didn't stay in touch with my neighbor and friend from Kingsley very often. I do have memories from the late 70's of going to the upper side of Tallulah Gorge where he always liked to climb, sometimes pulling me up with him "on belay the whole way, ha....and then swimming in the green water of the pools in the upper gorge. on one occasion the DNR located us at our campsite and asked him to assist in locating a person who had fallen and he didn't hesitate, grabbed his gear and off he went. As has been expressed on this site Shannon was always ready to help others. He was also a great diver mastering the 3M board at Kingsley, I think a gainer with a full twist was one of his favorite dives. We would also have marathon Risk games in his basement after school, and played a lot of street hockey together, BB gun battles and just growing up when Wilson's Corner was still around. You will be missed my friend!

"Protect these servants of yours, O Lord, by the prayers of St. Bernard, whom you have made patron of mountain dwellers and travelers; and grant that along with scaling these heights they may also reach that mountain which is Christ; through the same Christ our Lord."
